Pinterest's 2025 Design Predictions
The top predictions across fashion, beauty, home decor and beyond.
Being the 15th most popular social media app in the world, it’s safe to say Pinterest is an expert at identifying upcoming trends. With a new prediction list every year, it’s been reported that Pinterest’s annual trend predictions have a staggering 80% success rate, so pay attention. Here are my favorite predictions:
Peak Travel

Pinterest predicts that high altitude mountain ranges will be the next go-to travel destination for Gen-Z and Gen-X. Personally, I have always been a fan of these aesthetics and I am all here for it.
Mix & Maximalist

We’ve heard less is more, more is less, now we have more is more. Pinterest is predicting home decor will mix and match brilliantly bold patterns, eclectic prints and delightful textures in all colors this year.
Seeing Double

If you’re still trying to get a girlfriend, this is the year I guess. “Seeing Double” is Pinterest’s way of saying coordinated outfits will be the next big thing, from festival fits to date night looks.
Player One

This one is kind of hard to describe but I still think it’s interesting. It’s essentially the aesthetic and customization of your digital “avatar”. Whether it be your profile picture, your online persona, or even the accessories you decorate your platform with, the metaverse trend is growing.

2025 is about letting your inner child shine. Think of this trend as turning your finger painting skills into art. Pinterest put it perfectly saying “Your space is officially your canvas.”
Terra Futura

This is an architecture tend I’ve always had an interest in and I’m glad it’s finally getting some recognition. 2025 will revolutionize sustainable living, recyclable fashion, and community. Plus, it’ll look cool as fuck too.
Fisherman Aesthetic

There’s something so aesthetic about disappearing from life, settle down in a remote fishing town, and live out your days as this legendary captain of the seas. Pinterest describes it as “Get ready for cable knit sweaters, sardine tattoos and stripes. on. everything.”
Castlecore

Medieval is so back. With the rise in accessorizing, Castelcore is backing the gothic aesthetic in full force. Pinterest also noted that Medieval Core is up 110% in search histories.
Those are my favorites. I think 2025 is shaping up to be a really interesting year for design, some combination of twinning-meta-gothic-marine-futuristic-hiker. You should definitely check out the full list when you get a chance, since 80% of them usually come true!
